Cybersecurity firm Stormshield disclosed that threat actors hacked their systems and stole information on some of its clients.

French cybersecurity firm Stormshield provides network security, endpoint security and data security solutions.

Stormshield disclosed that their technical portal used as a support ticket system had been breached and may have allowed threat actors to review technical exchanges.

The company reported that attackers managed to steal parts of the source code for the Stormshield Network Security (SNS) firewall.

“Recently, the Stormshield teams detected a security incident that resulted in an unauthorized access to a technical portal used, in particular, by our customers and partners for the management of their support tickets on our products."

“Personal data and technical exchanges associated with certain accounts may have been consulted. We immediately alerted the account owners on the portal, and we notified the French authorities. As a precaution, the passwords of all accounts were reset, and we applied additional measures to the portal to reinforce its security."

“All the support tickets and technical exchanges in the accounts concerned have been reviewed, and the results have been communicated to the customers," disclosed Stormshield in the security advisory.

Stormshield is replacing all certificates on the SNS product and has made updates to customers and partners so that their installations can continue to work.

The company is investigating the incident with French cybersecurity agency ANSSI (Agence National de la Securite des Systemes d’Information), which is currently assessing the breach’s impact on government systems.

The company has made new updates available to customers and partners so that their products can work with this new certificate.
