According to the notice published by the City, its core functions ( 911, financial data, and fire and emergency resources) were not impacted.
The ransomware group behind the attack is still not known, and the City is yet to share any information regarding ransom demands or data theft from compromised systems.
The City’s Information Technology Department (ITD) is working with law enforcement to investigate the scope of the attack and is working on securing and restoring impacted services.
The spokesperson said that the City is following industry best practices and developing a response plan to address the issue.
"In the meantime, the public should expect delays from the City. We are actively monitoring the situation and sending updated information as it becomes available," reads the statement.
