Pro-Wrestling Tees disclosed a data breach incident that resulted in the compromise of the financial details of its customers.

The company designs t-shirts and merchandise like posters, action figures for existing and former professional wrestlers.

According to the data breach notification sent to affected individuals on December 15, 2021, Pro Wrestling Tees was informed on November 1, 2021, by law enforcement that a small portion of its customer's credit card numbers had been compromised.

The entity informed the Office of the Maine Attorney General about the incident on December 22, 2021, saying the incident affected 31,000 customers.

The company found no evidence that personal data was compromised or evidence of current misuse of information though admitting that payment card details were accessed.

“We immediately conducted an extensive investigation of our system and concluded that a malware virus was the source of the breach," reads the Pro-Wrestling Tees data breach notification.

"Working with a sophisticated forensic vendor, we have removed the malware virus from our system. We did not find any evidence that any current individual personal information was compromised."

Once the investigation was completed, a list was compiled of only those customers who were affected by the breach. This list was handed off to the data breach notification company to send out letters directly to those customers who were affected.

Unfortunately, some users on Reddit claim to have lost thousands of USD due to their credit cards being stolen, while others explained their bank interfered and flagged fraudulent transactions.

Individuals impacted are advised to take up the offering of one year of identity theft protection and credit monitoring services through IDX.
