On Tuesday morning, the University reported through its media portal that certain IT systems were facing disruptions. By the afternoon, the University officially confirmed that a cyberattack was the cause of the disruption.

Kansas State University (KSU) is a public research University located in Manhattan, United States. The University provides 65 master's and 45 doctoral programs. 

We are able to confirm that these disruptions are the result of a recent cybersecurity incident, and as such, we want you to know that these impacted systems were taken offline and will remain offline for the immediate future as the investigation continues.” reads the message post by the University on its website.

 “This will also include select shared drives and printers, as well as university listservs.” 

Upon detection of the attack, affected systems were promptly taken offline, leading to the unavailability of VPN, email services, Canvas, Mediasite videos, printing, shared drives, and mailing list management services (Listservs).

"Additionally, we have engaged third-party IT forensic experts to assist us in the ongoing investigation efforts."

KSU advises its staff and students to promptly report any suspicious activities.
