EA Sports FIFA 22 streamers and traders reported that their EA accounts have been hacked and lost access to their personal EA accounts.
- Several well-known Ultimate Team traders were targeted by hackers who have stolen their FIFA Points and coins.
- The top streamers and traders have lost millions of coins without much assistance from EA SPORTS on rectifying things.
EA Sports FIFA 22 streamers and traders reported that their EA accounts have been hacked and lost access to their personal EA accounts.
The affected players include famous streamers such as Trymacs, Jamie Bateson (AKA Bateson87), TisiSchubecH, NickRTFM, and FUT FG.
Threat actors stole their accounts using “threat and other social engineering methods” that targeted EA’s customer service team.
FIFA 22 traders claim that hackers are targeting their accounts and wiping their in-game currency, in some cases costing the traders thousands of pounds-worth of in-game currency.
According to media, threat actors, we can obtain the players Gamertags or PSN ID, then contact the EA Help via live chat claiming that they had been locked out of their account and ask the support to change the email address associated with their account.
Once the hackers control the account, they can see the sensitive, personal information. Thus, even if the original owner regains control, the hacker has already seen this information,
Attackers having access to sensitive and personal information can lead to abuse in future attacks and use it to hack the account again later.
According to The Mirror, EA will likely work with high-profile streamers to restore their accounts but pointed out that many FIFA 22 players are claiming that they were hacked and are facing problems regaining control of their accounts.
“We’ve been made aware of recent account takeover attempts and are currently investigating,” An EA Sports spokesperson told Mirror Football.
