Cencora, a pharmaceutical powerhouse, reports being targeted by a cyberattack in which hackers pilfered data from their corporate IT infrastructure.
Cencora, formerly recognized as AmerisourceBergen, focuses on pharmaceutical services, offering drug distribution and solutions for medical practices, pharmacies, and veterinary healthcare.
In a Form 8-K submission to the SEC, Cencora revealed that they experienced a cyberattack resulting in the theft of data.
"On February 21, 2024, Cencora, Inc. (the "Company"), learned that data from its information systems had been exfiltrated, some of which may contain personal information," reads the SEC filing.
Cencora has stated that they have contained the incident and are collaborating with law enforcement, external cybersecurity professionals, and external legal advisors to conduct an investigation.
Upon initially detecting the unauthorized activity, the company promptly initiated containment measures and began an investigation with the support of law enforcement, cybersecurity specialists, and external legal advisors.
Cencora has stated that they have yet to ascertain whether the incident will significantly impact their financials or operations.
