Researchers discovered a bug in macOS 10.13.2 which allows you to unlock App Store System Preferences with any username and password or no password at all.Researchers said that as long as you are logged in as the local admin, the App Store Preferences in System Preferences can be unlocked by any bogus password.The bug was reported by open radar and said that it only works when logged in as local admin. When tested with a non-admin account he failed to unlock it.

When tested in the latest beta 4 version macOS 10.13.3 the result was same. So it appears to be Apple has known about the issue and users can expect a fix in the upcoming software update.Users can check whether your system is affected or not by the below steps:
- Log in as a local admin
- Open App Store Prefpane from the System Preferences
- Lock the padlock if it is already unlocked
- Click the lock to unlock it
- Enter any bogus password
- click unlock
