One of the famous company in mobile phone hacking industry, Cellebrite has been hacked, and hackers have stolen 900 GB of data.The latest data breach is part of trend set that hackers were stealing information from companies that specialized in hacking technologies. Gamma International, a surveillance company, which makes intrusion software has been hacked by the hacker group called "PhineasFisher" and released 40GB of data to the public. The following year, “PhineasFisher” targeted Italian company Hacking Team and published a trove of emails and other internal documents from the enterprise.Cellebrite’s data includes customer information, databases and technical details of their products. Cellebrite is an Israeli company, whose key product is Universal Forensic Extraction Device (UFED), a laptop sized device which can rip data from different variants of mobile phones. The grabbed data includes messages, emails, call logs and much more.Cellebrite is more popular with US federal and state law enforcement and breached data reveals that also popular with Authorities of Russia, United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.The data breach mainly occurred in Cellebrite’s website servers. The username and passwords to log in the database of cellebrite's domain, my.cellebrite is also compromised.The company said in a statement that “Cellebrite recently experienced some unauthorized access to an external web server.”   " The company is conducting an investigation to determine the extent of the breach. The impacted server included a legacy database backup of my.Cellebrite, and the company’s end user license management system", the statement added by Cellebrite.Customers have advised changing their passwords as a defensive measure and Cellebrite is working with the concerned department in their investigation.Cellebrite systems' data has traded among a few select IRC chat rooms. However, the hacker has not dumped the files of Cellebrite online for anyone to download.Maybe something big is under plan .. !!
